The Adventure to Annapurna, Nepal

There are some adventures in life, that is larger than life...

I had mine from 12-26 October 2013.

The adventure started even before I left KLIA. Boey and my flight was overbooked, and we could only see our 7 friends leave for Kathmandu. Both of us were flown business class to Delhi, and transit to Kathmandu the next morning.

First ever business class, in shorts and climbing shoes...
And when we eventually reach Kathmandu, my backpack was somehow didn't arrive and was still in Delhi.

I felt a sense of calmness and steadied myself really fast. I would've succumbed to the pressure and disappointment. But I guess all my previous travel experience helped.

"If there were anyone in our group of 9 who were to get stuck in this situation, I'll be the best candidate, to get the better of it", so as I thought to myself.

So we left for Pokhara, and started hiking, without my backpack, which I so gently and efficiently planned and packed when I left home. I was also quite relieve that I had my essentials in my hand-carry backpack, e.g. camera, phone chargers, medicine (which I even manage to become supplier for the rest), a wind breaker, face towel, lonely planet Nepal...

Outfitters Nepal, our travel guide was fantastic as they borrowed me their downjacket, and sleeping bag, which thankfully, was of substantial quality.

Our guide Amar was fantastic thru out our 10-day hike.

The map
The first few days of the hike was disappointing. It rained and drizzle, and we couldn't see anything. My friend Soon sprained his ankle, and morale was at a all time low heading into the 4th day.

But I guess it's like in life, we we don't give up, and continue to dig hard, things will fall into place.

To be honest, I trained well, and I am glad I did that
And we were treated an experience of a life time at Annapurna Base Camp
"Fish tail" on the right
The feeling was beyond words
Did paragliding at Pokhara
We did a day tour around Kathmandu
The first ray of light on the morning of 19.10.2013
The adversity and hard work mean that we treasured this experience even more
So it's Tibet next fall, and Everest Base Camp in 2 year's time?

Any takers?
